...Celsius was an OK guy

In Nordisk Familjebok (Nordic Family Book) it says:

“One day in April when he was studying in the Academy Garden, he was addressed by an elderly gentleman; It was Olof Celsius, professor of divinity and himself a botanical author, who immediately recognized Linnaeus’ gift and unusual knowledge and invited him to come visit him at home […].”

When it says that Celsius made his presence known by means of a fever thermometer, the reference is to the new thermometer, of course. It was named after Celsius, but it was not Olof Celsius who invented it, but rather his nephew, Anders Celsius.
